Description of the position

Our client, active in the insurance sector, is looking for a portfolio manager to strengthen its team. As a Portfolio Manager, your main tasks will be:

  • Manage a portfolio of movable assets (shares, bonds, structured products, options, unit linked insurance, mortgage loans, etc)
  • Analyse transaction propositions – control and check information via Bloomberg
  • Handling transactions in BGAAP and in IFRS
  • Pass orders for sale or purchase of securities, in agreement with the financial director
  • Study real estate investments
  • Follow-up the performances of the different portfolios
  • Search for investment allowing an optimal return, while ensuring the security aspect of those
  • Manage contacts with intermediaries
  • Diverse analyses (real estate, infrastructure, etc)
  • Make monthly, quarterly, annual reportings
  • Take into account all regulation, accounting, and fiscal aspects in the decisions
  • Coordinate the back-office team’s tasks by collaborating with the administrative and accounting manager

 

Profile

  • Hold a university degree in management/finance and relevant experience in portfolio management or in financial analysis, ideally within an insurance company
  • Knowledge in IFRS regulations and Solvency II
  • Ideally master one or more asset classes
  • Natural interest for the financial markets
  • Hold an experience in the use of different softwares such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Bloomberg
  • Rigorous and organized
  • Proactive and ready to adapt to new things
  • Flexibility and team-spirit
  • Result-oriented
  • Global vision
  • Fluent in French, Dutch and English
