Management reshuffle at Crelan: Pieter Desmedt and Tiny Ergo appointed to key roles
Crelan’s Executive Committee has undergone significant changes with two major appointments. Pieter Desmedt, formerly Chief Risk Officer (CRO), has taken over as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), succeeding Emmanuel Vercoustre, who departs after a 25-year career with AXA and more recently with Crelan. Vercoustre now plans to pursue new roles as a non-executive director and mediator. Tiny Ergo joins Crelan as the new CRO, bringing over 25 years of experience from positions at KBC, the European Stability Mechanism (ESM), and most recently as CFO at Assurance Fédérale. She has also served as an independent director at Bpost Banque.

Dirk Clement Appointed as New CEO of TVM Belgium
Dirk Clement will take over as the new CEO of TVM Belgium on August 1, 2025, succeeding Frank van Nueten, who is retiring. At 55, Clement brings extensive experience in the Belgian insurance market, having held leadership roles at Sedgwick, CED Group, Vanbreda, Chubb, and AON. He will lead TVM Belgium alongside Jan van Waterschoot, who will expand his current role as Commercial Director to also become Chief Operating Officer.

Board changes at KBC: Michiel Allaerts succeeds Theodoros Roussis
Michiel Allaerts, who is currently CFO and COO of Ravago, was appointed as a non-executive director on the KBC Group Board for a four-year term, succeeding Theodoros Roussis. Roussis, current Chairman of Ravago’s Board, had served as a non-executive director at KBC since 1997, representing core shareholders. Allaerts, began his career at Deloitte before joining Ravago in 2012, where he rose through the ranks. He will now join KBC’s Board, also representing core shareholders as his predecessor did.
