ING Belgium and NN have introduced what they describe as a first on the Belgian insurance market: cover for hidden mechanical or technical defects in used cars purchased from private individuals.\u00a0<\/span>The protection is included in ING\u2019s Omnium and Mini Omnium car insurance and applies during the first three months after purchase or the first 5,000 kilometres, whichever comes first.\u00a0<\/span>Eligible repair costs can be covered up to \u20ac2,000, while legal protection in disputes related to the purchase of a used vehicle is increased to a maximum of \u20ac12,500.<\/span><\/p>

The launch responds to concerns identified in a survey of 1,000 Belgians, with 61% citing hidden mechanical or technical defects as a major concern when buying a used car.\u00a0<\/span>Three in ten respondents who had previously bought a used car reported unexpected technical or mechanical problems shortly after purchase.<\/span><\/p>

Baloise has launched three new Invest Fix products aimed at individuals and companies seeking predictable returns and defined investment horizons amid continued economic uncertainty. The new products offer guaranteed gross returns of up to 3.30%, with investment periods ranging from three to eight years.<\/span><\/p>

The three-year Invest 26 Fix product offers a 2.70% guaranteed gross return and is available to both private investors and companies.\u00a0<\/span>For an eight-year horizon, Baloise offers a 3.30% guaranteed gross return through Invest 26 Fix for companies and Invest Fix, a Branch 21 life insurance solution, for individuals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

KBC has officially launched its \u201cGuardian Angel\u201d service to more than four million customers in Belgium following a successful pilot involving over 2,000 users.\u00a0<\/span>The service is designed to combat \u201chuman takeover\u201d fraud, where criminals manipulate victims into making payments or granting access to their banking environment.<\/span><\/p>

Customers can appoint a trusted person who is notified when KBC Secure4U detects a suspicious payment and can help verify whether the transaction is legitimate before it is executed.\u00a0<\/span>If necessary, the trusted person can approve or reject the payment, while only seeing the suspicious transaction and not gaining access to the customer\u2019s accounts or other payments.<\/span><\/p>

Ageas has completed the sale of its 30.95% stake in Maybank Ageas Holdings Berhad to Maybank for a total cash consideration of \u20ac1.1 billion.\u00a0<\/span>The transaction generates a net capital gain after tax of \u20ac464 million and values 100% of Maybank Ageas Holdings at \u20ac3.5 billion.\u00a0<\/span>The deal implies a price-to-book ratio of around 2x based on 2025 IFRS equity.<\/span><\/p>

French digital health insurer Alan is expanding into Africa through the acquisition of Tanel, a digital health company operating in Senegal and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire.\u00a0<\/span>The move follows Alan\u2019s \u20ac480 million fundraising round in June, which valued the company at \u20ac5.5 billion.<\/span><\/p>

Founded in 2021, Tanel provides digital solutions that help companies manage employee health coverage, access to care and benefits administration.<\/span><\/p>

Senegal and C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire will serve as Alan\u2019s entry point into Africa, where the group sees strong potential for digital healthcare solutions.\u00a0<\/span>Alan estimates the health insurance market in the two countries at nearly \u20ac600 million, with annual growth of around 10%.<\/span><\/p>
