DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

Our client is looking for a Regional Actuary to provide technical and analytical support to the senior staff and to the brokers.

His/her main responsibilities will be the following:

  • Support senior staff by providing detailed actuarial analysis
  • Organize presentations and discuss findings of the company’s analysis to other members/brokers
  • Develop and maintain internal actuarial applications, suggest improvement of the existing applications
  • Analyse actuarial data needs and translate them into databases
  • Data management, data handling and data analysis
  • Establish relationships within the company and with industry peers
  • Comply with the company’s quality insurance procedures and professional standards
  • Management of client studies in the modelling tool - MetaRisk
  • Automatization of some applications

 

  • Continue to develop knowledge of the company’s relevant disciplines
  • Participate in Research & Development efforts

PROFILE

  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, or other relevant discipline
  • Relevant experience gained in the field of Actuarial/General (Re)Insurance/Statistics
  • Knowledge of Non-Life actuarial techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Good communications skills
  • Thorough, professional and confident
  • Knowledge of programming skills (VBA, Python, SQL, R) and of database design
  • Fluency in Dutch and good knowledge of English (additional languages are not required but would be beneficial)

Non-Life Actuary

Our client is looking for a Non-Life Actuary whose main missions will be the following:

  • Participate actively in the definition of technical pricing in collaboration with the product management department,
  • Participate in defining the pricing strategy based on business priorities,
  • Monitor performance in terms of profitability and offer the necessary adjustments to optimize the product range and help identify new opportunities;
  • Take part in the establishment of the plan and budget of the non-life insurance business,

  • Perform valuation work on BEGAAP, IFRS and Solvency II,
  • Carry out several projects including the optimization of pricing and reserving methods.

PROFILE

  • University degree in Actuarial Sciences or equivalent,

Our client is looking for his /her future Technical director, who will manage a team of 60 people in the actuarial and contract management departments. In this context, he/she will have to:

  • Supervise and organize the technical direction of the group,
  • Act as the technical reference to the actuarial and contract management teams,
  • Ensure the legislative monitoring regarding insurance techniques.

As a member of the Executive Committee, the candidate should also:

  • Attend Executive Committee meetings and participate in the Board of Directors,
  • Ensure the follow up of financial, commercial, and risk management files to participate in the decision making,
  • Apply the strategy set by the Board of Directors,
  • Participate in the technical reporting for the audit committee, the risk committee as well as the Board of Directors,
  • Ensure good relations with the supervisory authorities,
  • Instigate a positive work dynamic conducive to constructive changes in the structure.

PROFILE

  • Master’s in mathematics / Actuarial Science,
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a technical function in Life insurance,
  • Excellent command of the technical management of an insurance company regarding life, regulations, actuarial, financial products, derivatives and structured products,
  • Partial knowledge of IFRS and ALM principles,
  • Excellent managerial skills,
  • Sense of organization and responsibilities,

Credit Risk Modeller

DECRIPTION OF THE POSITION

Our client is looking for a Credit Risk Modeller whose main mission will be to apply advanced statistical or technical methods in the maintenance/development of models and to be aware of IFRS 9 requirements for all developments.

The candidate will have to use mostly SAS skills and be called upon to provide judgement on analytical and data solutions, as well as be responsible for the execution of any models and reporting produced.

PROFILE

  • First-hand experience in ALM/Finance/Credit Risk environment and applying credit risk modelling techniques or disciplines
  • Experience in producing reporting/analytical output and presenting material effectively
  • Previous collaboration with Internal and External Audit is desirable
  • Knowledge of IFRS9 and IRB regulatory framework, requirements, and application
  • Experience of model building, quantitative analysis, and data manipulation
  • Advanced use and application of data modelling and data analysis software: specifically, SAS, or simillar
  • Excellent IT skills: of Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Visual Basic
