The 21st edition of the DECAVI Trophies for Non-Life Insurance (2025) was held on the 24th of April at Event Lounge in Brussels. This event, organized by Laurent Feiner and Muriel Storrer, recognized and awarded belgian insurers for their products and innovation.
Nearly 80 to 90% of the market within each category was reviewed by an expert jury to ensure strong representativeness.
The jury was made up of notable figures from the economic, academic, and insurance sectors (e.g., Jean-Marc Delporte, Patrick Cauwert, Katrien De Cauwer, etc.).
The DECAVI Trophies have become a benchmark in the Belgian insurance world. They highlight solutions and innovation in a sector often seen through the lens of problems and claims. By rewarding the best products, they provide consumers with clear guidelines to select insurance that suits their profiles. They also emphasize the growing importance of prevention and digitalization in the sector.


The winners
MY MOBILITY
AG – Car insurance (liability & comprehensive)
AG offers car insurance with immediate assistance, a replacement vehicle, lifetime -2 bonus-malus, and extensive coverage (Top Comprehensive for new vehicles, Top Occasion for second-hand vehicles). Specific protections like OmniNature cover natural damage and glass breakage.
Aedes – Auto legal protection
Aedes guarantees the best legal protection for automobiles on the market: in the event of a claim, it aligns with the best available conditions, with high intervention limits.
Groupe P&V (P&V Assurances and Vivium) – Motorcycle insurance
P&V offers comprehensive motorcycle insurance: liability with Bob guarantee, customizable comprehensive coverage, rider and equipment protection, extended assistance, and free access to the Liberty Rider app for motorcycle safety.
Belfius Insurance – Bicycle insurance
Belfius insures all types of bicycles (electric, classic) against theft, material damage, and provides assistance throughout Europe. There is no value depreciation within 24 months and coverage extends to accessories and professional use.

CBC Assurances – Homeowners fire insurance
Home insurance “All Risks Except” with limited exclusions. Content is covered up to €200,000, including motor vehicles and pets, with no limit for exterior property. Theft option available.
CBC Assurances – Tenant’s fire insurance
Insurance covering tenant liability and content up to €200,000, with the same protections as for homeowners. Soil remediation option available in case of pollution.
I.B.I.S. Insurance – COCOON (Co-ownership Insurance)
A very broad “All Risks Except” policy for co-ownerships with at least two owners, covering the building, outbuildings, common areas, and building liability. Legal protection and assistance included, with highly competitive premiums.

Groupe P&V – Private liability insurance (family)
Family insurance with extended coverage, including the Bob guarantee, coverage for entrusted property and horses (up to 10). Updates: possible extension to cohousing (up to 3 people), coverage for lightweight housing (tiny houses, yurts, etc.), and protection for occasional insureds (e.g., au pairs, refugees).

Belfius Direct Assurances – Pet insurance
Veterinary insurance for dogs and cats with Bronze, Silver, or Gold plans. The Gold plan covers veterinary costs with no limit, including abroad. The Silver and Gold plans also provide compensation for death, theft, pet care costs, or trip cancellation due to the pet’s health.

AG – Providis global legal protection
Insurance covering 10 legal fields, with partially tax-deductible premiums. Two plans: Classic (limit €100,000, reduced thresholds and times) and Excellence (doubled limits, even shorter times and thresholds). Mobility option available for drivers or vehicle owners.

Ethias offers extensive coverage for work accidents, including services like AssurPharma and AssurKiné for quick reimbursements. Insured parties can track claims online 24/7. Additional services are available, such as repatriation, household help, and childcare in case of prolonged disability. A professional reintegration program is also available for serious accidents.
AG – SME package (modulis easy)
Modulis Easy allows bundling multiple business insurances with advantages like a 10% annual premium bonus and installment payments. Eight sector-specific packs are available (e.g., hairdresser, restaurateur, doctor), along with free debt collection services.
Hiscox – Cyber risk insurance (CyberClear by Hiscox)
CyberClear covers cyber risks, including hacking and online fraud, with 24/7 assistance and no deductible. The solution includes CyberClear Academy, which trains employees to prevent cyber risks.
INNOVATION
AXA Belgium – AXA Mind Health Self-check
AXA launched a global tool allowing anyone to measure and improve their mental well-being. Based on scientific research, it generates an individual score and provides personalized advice. The tool is anonymous, free, and takes 5-10 minutes to complete. Users can also access a video consultation with a psychologist via the Doctors Online Psy platform, available 24/7.
CBC Assurances – Kate
Kate is a digital assistant that sends personalized notifications to clients to help them quickly report a claim. Using advanced technologies like AI, it streamlines the claims process and speeds up compensation by guiding clients through the entire procedure.
DIGITAL
AXA Belgium – Digital with broker
AXA offers an innovative digital experience with its “digital with broker” model. This model allows clients to subscribe online at any time while benefiting from a broker’s advice. Clients can obtain coverage the next day and quickly receive their contracts via email. The process is entirely digital, from subscription to payment management. If needed, clients can call the AXA call center or request a callback. Clients with an existing AXA broker continue to be supported by them throughout their contract.
PREVENTION
AG
AG focuses on risk prevention, especially regarding workplace safety and health. Through ongoing information, partnerships, and targeted campaigns, the insurer raises awareness among individuals and businesses. The prevention platform helps companies develop effective policies, providing advice, practical tools, and information on preventing work accidents, including teleworking and home-to-work travel. It also offers ready-made document templates and posters to raise employee awareness.
SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT
AG (Social engagement)
AG is actively committed to sustainability and climate change, as well as social and societal initiatives. Their goal is to have a long-term positive impact on society. This includes investments in key sectors:
- Retirement Homes: In 2022, AG acquired Anima, a Belgian group providing quality care to the elderly.
- Education Investment: A €400 million investment in building schools to accommodate nearly 20,000 students.

AXA Belgium – “Support is worth gold” campaign
Since 2019, AXA has partnered with Nafi Thiam, supporting her athletic journey under the brand signature “Know You Can.” With the slogan “Support is worth gold,” AXA highlights the role of support in personal achievement, emphasizing the confidence and strength it provides. The campaign stands out for its striking imagery and iconic music (“Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys). The film shows Nafi Thiam performing the heptathlon disciplines, accompanied by dancers representing the support she receives to overcome her limits. This support, highlighted by dance and archival footage of the champion’s feats, conveys a strong emotional message to connect with Belgians and make the brand more human and inspiring.
BROKERAGE TROPHY
The trophy is awarded based on a survey of independent brokers. They evaluate the insurance company based on product and service quality. AG confirms its leadership position thanks to innovation and proactive support for brokers, as part of its ambitious and stable strategy. Frédéric Van Dieren, AG’s sales director, thanked the brokers for their trust and commitment.
