A new chapter for AMMA
After leading AMMA with passion and determination for 37 years, Herman Falsté has decided to step down from his role as CEO for health reasons. Frédéric Melle, who has served as Chief Product Officer since 2021, will officially take over as CEO of AMMA on October 1st.
With 25 years of experience in the insurance sector and four years as a member of the Board of Directors, he will assume leadership of AMMA in close collaboration with the Board and a strengthened Executive Team.

The Athora Group has announced a leadership succession
Mike Wells, who has served as CEO since 2022, will retire from the executive role in Q4 2026 and remain with the company as a non‑executive board member.
He will be succeeded by Todd Solash, currently President & Deputy CEO, who will assume the CEO role with the aim of ensuring continuity and driving future growth. Over 2025 and 2026, Wells and Solash will work closely together, including in executing Athora’s expansion into the UK via the acquisition of Pension Insurance Corporation Group (PICG).

Two new members for Allianz Life’s executive committee
Allianz Life Luxembourg has announced two key appointments to reinforce its executive leadership team, as part of its “AIB – Allianz Life Luxembourg is Back!” campaign.
Nicola Alvaro joins the Executive Committee as Head of Wealth Services and Distribution. Bringing over 15 years of international experience in business law, legal compliance, and wealth structuring — including 12 years within Luxembourg’s insurance sector — he will contribute deep expertise in wealth management services and distribution.
Amélie Lequien will also join the Executive Committee as Chief Insurance Officer. An actuary by background, she brings a 20-year career spanning operations management, product development, and actuarial functions, including nine years in senior positions within the Luxembourg market. She currently serves as Wealth Technical Director at AXA Luxembourg.

Rui Pinto takes over as CFO of Baloise Luxembourg
Baloise Luxembourg has appointed Rui Pinto to lead its financial management, effective on October 1st, when he will also join the company’s Executive Committee. Pinto succeeds Stephan Hersperger-Cremer, who has held the role since June 2022.
A graduate of HEC Liège in commercial engineering, Rui Pinto began his career at PwC Luxembourg in 2004 before moving to Swiss Life Global Solutions, where he held several roles, including Head of Finance. In 2018, he became CFO of Iptiq Life, later assuming the same position at Lombard (now part of the Utmost Group), which he is set to leave in 2025.
